For Life. For Work.
SD Worx Annual Report 2018
For Life. For Work.
We need to be on top of our game. The competition is fierce, and we aim to be in a leading position for the long term – but not out of restless ambition. We see it also as a mission to support a better world, but without being naïve – SD Worx will not alter the course of the world in sweeping ways. However, we do know employees seek purpose, and companies perform their best when empowered, engaged people drive business forward.
It is very important that employees feel well-connected with the companies they are working for and that they match well with their jobs. That harmony between life and work is crucial. Payroll and HR are essential to making that happen.

– Steven Van Hoorebeke, CEO of SD Worx Group
And therefore, as a company, we need to provide HR decision-makers with the insights, expertise, services and technology they need for their organisations and people to thrive. We know the challenges that our customers face due to trends such as the rise in digitalisation, individualisation, versatility and internationalisation in our society – and as a consequence, also in HR. SD Worx is in the same boat. We are gearing our organisation and services towards pole position to deliver excellent results.
Shaped by digitalisation
The digital transformation of HR is in full swing. To be positioned as a truly digital company, it is not enough for IT to become fully agile; SD Worx as a whole must become agile. In the future, end-to-end agility will be the norm.
In 2018, we sharpened our approach to digital transformation and launched initiatives that stimulate the growth of our business while reducing our cost to serve. Customers always want better service at a lower price. That is why we are already implementing new methods and processes supported by digital tools. Our transformation is an essential step toward realising our ambition to become the best payroll and HR services company in Europe. To do so, we must have a profound understanding of what the customer wants, now and in the future. Only then will we be able to create the innovative, future-proof HR solutions our customers really need.
To be positioned as a truly digital company, it is not enough for IT to become fully agile; SD Worx as a whole must become agile. In the future, end-to-end agility will be the norm. If we do not adapt to the changing world, we will lose our competitive edge.
– Filip Dierckx, Chair of the Board of Directors of SD Worx Holding
The world of work is becoming more and more individualised. SD Worx puts people first. By ‘people’, we refer to our own colleagues, but also to the employees of our customers. And not only their employees, but also people who are self-employed and those who participate in single, one-off projects. All of these individuals need and deserve effective, agile, user-friendly tools. If we talk about customer centricity, we include all of them, and all of our services need to be oriented to the needs of every customer.
With SD Worx Staffing Solutions, we aim to become a large enough player so that we can actively contribute to a healthy and successful working environment for as many people as possible: mentally, physically and relationship-wise.
– Christophe Petit, CEO of SD Worx Staffing Solutions
Need for versatility
People want more flexibility: how and where they work, in their remuneration, their career paths, etc. In complement, businesses increasingly need a flexible extended workforce. Next to tools such as our Flex Income Plan and Protime, we stepped into the flexible career solutions business with the acquisition of VIO Interim and Flexpoint Group. We aim to become a large enough player in staffing so that we can actively contribute to a healthy and successful working environment for as many people as possible: mentally, physically and relationship-wise.
We can only succeed if we remain relevant to the job market. The keys to success include technology ownership, but also a thorough understanding of the labour market, which we can claim thanks to our knowledge centre. Data analysis will also be crucial as we move forward. Being able to provide our customers with intelligent data insights will make us a desired partner.
The needs of our customers guide us in our activities. More and more companies are seeking one provider to help them out for their payroll and HR solutions in all of their countries. As a result, we are definitely evolving to operate in a global market. Besides, we are in a business that is very much capital driven. We have to make huge investments in multiple areas, such as IT, which makes scale of the essence. Growth in our domestic markets fluctuates by between 2 to 3 percent. However, international business is growing by more than 15 percent per annum.
As a truly people-centric organisation, we care. That is why we feel lucky that our employees have their hearts in the right place. As is the case every year, we dedicate time, effort and resources to a number of charities. We support the fight against cancer, we raise funds for children with disabilities, we donate blood, and so on. As a company, we also work together structurally with other organisations that guide and facilitate access to the labour market and helped build mobile schools for homeless children.
Our employees and customers are crucial to the future and success of this company. We want to thank all of our colleagues for the excellent support they provide to our customers. We also want to thank our customers for their confidence in our services, and our partners for the impactful cooperation.
